"Here is the latest concerning the removal of "auto-injector" from the epinephrine requirement for school stock!

The window of time was narrowed for the possibility of law for the start of the upcoming school year, due to the fact that all legislative actions are limited during July and August.

In the Senate, Senator Testa introduced Bill S4545 (https://www.njleg.state.nj.us/bill-search/2024/S4545) June 2nd. There are a couple co-sponsors noted BUT we need more!! This "Senate-side" bill was sent to HHS and SC Committee. So, it is now time to reach out to your senate legislators or directly to this committee to thank them for the introduction of the bill and ask for their support to co-sponsor the bill. There were specific questions that I was asked to respond to from Senator Gopal that are being shared with the committee. He is the Chair of this committee. Now, on the "Assembly-side", we do need a sponsor and co-sponsors! There is a strong possibility that one of the Assemblypersons from Bergen County will lead this effort on their side. Fingers-crossed! So, for your Assemblypersons, we need the big push and when you contact them, you can say there is already a bill introduced by the NJ Senate that is S4545. One of them can sponsor the exact same bill on the "Assembly-side".

By the way, have you seen the neffy television commercials and heard the radio ads? In addition, Anaphylm - the under-the-tongue film is due to be FDA-approved in January 2026.

**In addition, as an aside, do you know that the most recent research and also information provided from organizations like, Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) will be changing their Action Plan to reflect the "Watch and Wait" then give second dose of epinephrine BEFORE calling 911 latest research. **This will mean that there will always need to be two doses received from parents and also kept together in the places we stock epi!** Keep watch during 2026, that this information will be more broadly shared as the evidence-based research and best practices are noting this information.**
