The New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) Communicable Disease Service would like to make you aware of two new confirmed measles cases identified in Ocean County, New Jersey (NJ), residents. These cases are unrelated to each other, to any previously reported NJ measles cases, or to the recently reported exposure at Newark Liberty International Airport. Both individuals developed rash following international travel and were subsequently confirmed to have measles via positive measles PCR results.

The NJDOH is working in collaboration with local health officials and facilities to identify and notify people who might have been exposed during the time the cases were infectious. At this time, a press release is not being issued since the involved facilities believe they have identified and notified exposed individuals. Please see the attached document for more information, including exposure locations, dates, and times.
