We are grateful to Michael Riley, NRP, EMS-1, LSSGB Director Center for Resuscitation Education & Community Engagement  Cooper University Health Care, for the great information in his "From Collapse to Care: Managing Cardiac Arrest in the School Setting" educational program on October 29th.

Mr. Riley achieved his program objectives of:

  • Equipping school nurses with crucial skills for cardiac emergencies.

  • Emphasized readiness and rapid response to improve outcomes during cardiac arrest incidents.

  • Introduced implementation of CERP to enhance survival rates in schools.

  • Providing information to ensure that schools are capable of handling sudden cardiac arrest with confidence.

Important programs such as the Project Adam Heart Safe School Designation were identified. Mr. Riley explained that programs are available to educate staff to feel confident that they can safely intervene in cardiac emergencies without fear of inflicting harm or incurring liability. We have attached the PDF of Mr. Riley's slides which he has generously shared. The slides include Mr. Riley's contact information on the last slide.
