Program Agenda:
This course is instructor led and delivered in 3 modules. Module 3 is a hands on demonstration. The program length is 2 hours. Students who complete this program and meet the instructor requirements of the Stop the Bleed Program (https://cms.bleedingcontrol.org/applicant/create) will be eligible to teach the program if they wish. There will be more information about becoming an instructor during the class.
Module 1: Introduction
Why this training is Important. An explanation of the Harford Consensus, and an introduction to your bleeding control kit.
Module 2: Treatment
Recognizing life threatening bleeding and the treatment of a life threating bleed for adults and children. This includes the following techniques: Direct Pressure, Tourniquets, Wound Packing, and Hemostatic Agents.
Module 3: Demonstration
This includes self-application of a tourniquet, hemostatic gauze, and wound packing using bleeding control simulators.
**Please Note: You must use your assigned school district email address and your school or district mailing address during registration**
If you haven't registered with ECSNA for this program yet, please clickhereto register. When you register with ECSNA, we will send you the required registration link for University Hospital. The form only takes a few minutes to complete.
If you find that you are not able to attend, please cancel your registration on the ECSNA website since space is limited to 40 participants and will be open to the public on Monday. We currently have 22 participants registered.
