The Essex County School Nurses Association is committed to advancing the high standards of school nurse practice and to encouraging the professional advancement of all school nurses. We strive to provide free monthly educational programs, with PD certificates for paid members. We also share outside educational opportunities.
This year, we have decided to follow other county school nursing organizations in offering a scholarship to:
New Jersey state registered professional nurse pursuing a career as a New Jersey certified school nurse through a state accredited, school nurse certification program or
a current New Jersey Certified School Nurse pursuing a Master’s Degree.
We are currently grappling with the amount of the scholarship award due to our diminishing membership numbers. Currently, we have 48 paid members, and 197 non-members who are followers of our website. We have $1,527.53 in our treasury which has to cover the cost of our scholarship, website, Zoom account and fees for some of our speakers.
We are hoping that some of or 197 non-members will consider joining ECSNA. Once we determine the amount of the scholarship award, we will share the application form on our website. ECSNA was established in 1966 in Nutley, so this year is our 60th anniversary. It would be great to be able to provide a decent scholarship amount, and allow ECSNA to continue to share information, collegiality and support for many years to come.
